Highest Peaks & Main Regions 

The highest peak of the range, Mount Kackar (3.932 m), is a non-technical trekking mountain in summer and a rewarding ski touring summit in winter.
The range is divided into two main regions: 

- Kackar National Park (Yusufeli & Yaylalar area) – the classic trekking side

- Rize Highland Region (Ayder Plateau, Camlihemsin) – green valleys, waterfalls, wooden bridges and cultural villages 

Both regions offer exceptional trekking routes, mountain passes and opportunities to experience authentic local culture. 

Best Time for Trekking in the Kackar Mountains. 

The optimal trekking season is mid-June to mid-September. 

During this period:

- Snow has melted from the high passes

- Valleys are green and full of flowers

- Weather is stable and pleasantly cool

- Mountain shelters and yayla (pasture) villages are active

Treks to Dilberduzu Base Camp and the Kackar Summit are best done in July and August, when conditions are most reliable. 

Best Time for Ski Touring in the Kackar Mountains. 

The Kackars are one of the top ski touring destinations in Turkey. 

Ideal season is from February till half of April. 

During these months:

- Snowpack is deep and stable

- Slopes offer excellent powder and spring snow

- Weather windows are longer

- Access roads to highland villages are open 

Ski tours can be organized from Yaylalar (classic route), or from the Rize side for more secluded lines.
