During the Trip
Your adventure has begun! To make the most of your trekking or ski touring experience, here are a few useful reminders for the days spent on the mountain.
1. Follow your guide’s instructions
Our certified guides know the mountains, the weather and the safest routes. Always follow their pace and advice — it ensures your comfort and safety.
2. Keep a steady and comfortable rhythm
Altitude requires patience. Walk slowly, take regular breaks, and avoid rushing, especially on steeper sections.
3. Drink water regularly
Even if you don’t feel very thirsty, hydration is essential at high altitude. Drink small sips throughout the day. Aim for 2.5–3 liters of water per day.
4. Eat well to stay energized
Use every meal and snack break to fuel your body. Calories burn faster at altitude, so don’t skip meals.
5. Protect yourself from the sun and wind
Weather changes quickly - always keep sunscreen, sunglasses, windproof layers and gloves in your daypack.
6. Keep your personal items organized
Pack your daypack the same way each morning: water, lunch pack, extra layers, headlamp, camera/phone, sunscreen and tissues. It will save time and reduce stress.
7. Respect the mountain environment
Leave no trace:
- do not leave food or waste,
- use designated toilets,
- avoid disturbing wildlife.
We aim to keep the mountains pristine for future generations.
8. Communicate how you feel
If you experience headaches, dizziness, nausea, or any discomfort - tell your guide immediately. Early reaction prevents altitude-related issues.
9. Keep your electronics warm
Cold weather drains batteries quickly. Store your phone, camera and power bank close to your body during the day and inside your sleeping bag at night.
10. Enjoy the moment
Breathe in the mountain air, admire the landscapes and appreciate the journey - not just the summit.
