Day 1: Van Airport - Dogubeyazit

We meet you at the airport in Van and drive to Dogubayazit.

On the way we stop to see Muradiye Waterfall.

Dinner and overnight in Dogubayazit

 

Day 2: Dogubeyazit Tour

In the morning we visit Ishak Pasha Palace - one of the most important palaces in Ottoman history. About 200 meters from Ishak Pasha we have ancient Urartian Castle and 2 mosque from Ottoman times.

We back to town for lunch.

In the afternoon we visit city centre and bazaar and then relax in Turkish bath (hamam).

Overnight in Dogubayazit.

 

Day 3: Mt Ararat Trekking - Base Camp

After breakfast - transfer from hotel to Eli Village at 2200 meters by minibus. Porters load our baggages on horses and we start our trek on Ararat. We walk to Yesil Yayala Base Camp at 3200 meters. When we reach the camp we will drink tea and eat hot meal.

Overnight at Camp 1.

Day 4: Ararat Acclimatization

We climb up till 4200 meters (Camp 2) and back to Base Camp again - for acclimatization.

Next overnight at Camp 1.

 

Day 5: Mt Ararat Climb - Second Camp

After breakfast we start to climb to Camp 2 at 4200 meters. Equipment will be transported by pack animals. When we reach the camp we eat dinner, drink tea and then go to our tents to sleep. We should go to bed early, because next day we start our trek at 1 or 2 a.m.

 

Day 6: Mt Ararat Expedition - Ararat Summit Day

We start climbing early in the morning (1 or 2 a.m.). After 5-7 hours we reach Mount Ararat summit at 5165 meters. Afterwards we return to Camp 2, we have a rest, eat meal and pack our equipment. Then we start to descent to Camp 1.

Dinner and overnight at Camp 1.

 

Day 7: Mt Ararat Trekking All The Way Down - Dogubeyazit

We have free day at Base Camp. You can discover the hills around and meet with Nomad people.

Afterwards we start to descent to Eli Village at 2200 meters where minibuses wait us. We back to Dogubayazit, to our hotel.

Dinner and overnight in Dogubeyazit.

 

Day 8: Transfer to Airport

Transfer to Van airport.
